Veterinarians
Dr. Mallory Schaar, DVM
Dr. Mallory Schaar is a fifth generation Victoria county native. Growing up rodeoing throughout her life and raising animals for 4-H projects and being influenced by her father, she always knew she wanted to be a vet. She received a Bachelor of Science in Rangeland Ecology & Management at Texas A&M University and then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2014. She then moved back to Victoria to practice with her dad, Dr. Travis Schaar. Dr. Mallory lives with her wife, Kristy, 2 daughters, and pets Cooper, Otis and Marbles in downtown Victoria. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her kids, riding her horse, hunting, & just being outdoors. She is a member of Gulf Coast Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Mallory can't wait to meet your family member and treat them as her own.
Dr. Travis Schaar, DVM
Dr Travis Schaar is a fourth generation Victoria county native. Born & raised on a cattle ranch with animal 4-H projects kindled his interest and love of animals. He married Toni having 3 children Morgan, Mallory & Taylor. After receiving a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1986, he moved back to Victoria to eventually open Main Street Animal Hospital. The hospital offers routine care, dentistry, surgery, and emergency services. Dr Travis Schaar's philosophy is to treat the pets as one of his own loved pets. He will always be honest to offer all options to maintain a happy healthy companion. His success has been achieved due to his caring dedicated staff which offers the same personal care. An example of his devotion to his patients is the opening of The Pet Resort on Main which offers the ultimate experience including daycare, grooming, lodging with activities, and training. While at home he spends his time with 2 dogs, 2 cats, 6 miniature donkeys and 3 horses.
Office Manager
Macy Ryon
Macy joined our team at the end of 2017. She has worked with animals for 6 years prior to working at our hospital. She currently resides in Victoria with her husband David and their 3 children; Jacob, Jayden and Jaycee. She has 3 dogs, Onyx, Ted and Wickett who are all a huge part of her family. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with family, creating core memories for her kiddos, game nights and shuffling the children to and from extra-curricular activities. Macy enjoys working not only with patients here at Main Street Animal Hospital but also developing lasting meaningful relationships with our clients as well.
Veterinary Technicians
Blair Ziegler: Lead Technician
Blair has been a part of the MSAH family since 2014. She has worked with small animals since 2010, her favorite animal/pet to assist our doctors with isdachshunds. She resides in Edna with her daughter Sadie, Red (Scarlett McCaw) and Zelda (Snow Lynx Bengal). In her spare time, she likes to bowl competitively and feed peppermints to her longhorns.
Megan Palmer: Receptionist/Technician
Megan has been working in the veterinary field for over 6 years, and says “she can honestly say I still love what I do!” Working in a small animal practice gives her the chance to meet all kinds of sweet (and sometimes sassy!) personalities, but has a special soft spot for our dogs. There’s nothing better than helping a nervous pup feel safe, getting them the care they need, and seeing them leave feeling happy and better than when they came in. When she isn’t at the clinic, you’ll usually find her somewhere outside. She loves hunting, fishing, spending time around the ranch, and floating the river whenever she can. She is happiest with a good day outdoors, her favorite people around her, and her dogs close by. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her family and making the most of the simple things in life.
Ashley Stange: Technician
Ashley has been a part of the MSAH family since 2022. She resides in Schroeder with her husband Cullen and their 3 boys, Javen, Ryder, and Canaan. In her free time, she enjoys working with the family cattle, helping her sons show livestock animals for FAA projects. She also enjoys spending her free time with her 2 dogs, Ethel and Lucy, and cat, Ravenclaw.
Chauna Walters: Technician
Chauna has been apart of MSAH staff since Summer of 2023. Chauna has been working with small animals for over 20 years; she also has about 10 years combined of exotic and wildlife experience as well. Her favorite animals to work with in clinic are birds and dogs. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and spending quality time with family and friends. You will also often find her volunteering with local charities and organizations within our community.
Jazzalyn Clifford: Kennel Tech
Jazz is one of our newest employees at MSAH! She enjoys working with patients here because it is rewarding to her because she loves being able to comfort them, helps them feel safe, and make a positive difference in their lives. She treats every animal with patience, kindness, and compassion, and believes they deserve the same love and care that she gives to the people in her life. When she isn’t at the clinic, you can usually find her with my two pet, Ammo and Thor! Caring for animals is something she truly loves, and is happy to be part of the MSAH team to learn and care for every client that walks through our doors!
Office Staff
Melody Green: Receptionist
Melody has been a part of our team since 2024 and has been working in veterinary medicine since 2013, and it’s something she quickly grew to love. She has gained a lot of knowledge over the years that definitely comes in handy at the front desk when questions or concerns about your pet arise! She loves meeting new people, talking to our clients, and of course, loving on all the animals that come through our doors. While she enjoys loving on and seeing all of our younger patients, she has a sweet spot for all of our older patients.
Hilary Vaughn: Receptionist
Hilary joined our team in the summer of 2024. She has always loved animals, so working at Main Street Animal Hospital has been a great stepping stone for her. She loves not only meeting all of the pets that come through our doors but creating relationships with the people who love them. As one of the receptionists, she is usually one of the first faces you’ll see when you walk in and is here to help with appointments, questions, phone calls, and all the little things that help keep your visit running smoothly. She truly enjoys helping people and making them feel welcome at the clinic.
